Privacy
A ranking site does not need to know who you are. This page says exactly what is collected, what is not, and what to do if you want any of it gone.
What the site collects by itself
One small request is sent when you open a page. It carries four things, and all four are stored as daily totals rather than as a log of your visits:
- The path — which page you were on, like
/view?id=movies-2026. - The referring hostname — if you arrived from another site, only its domain, never the full link you clicked.
- A random visitor id — a meaningless string kept in your own browser's localStorage. It is not derived from your device, and it identifies nothing outside this site. It exists so that "how many people came back this week" has an answer.
- The day — a date, not a timestamp. There is no minute-by-minute record of anyone's session.
Not collected: your IP address, your browser or operating system, your approximate location, your email address, or a cookie of any kind set by this site.
If you ask your browser not to be counted
The beacon checks Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control first. If either is on, the request is never sent and your visit is not counted at all — not anonymised after the fact, simply not recorded. The same applies to a browser with localStorage switched off: the view is counted as a number, with no visitor id attached.
Google AdSense and other third parties
Ads on this site are served by Google AdSense, a third-party vendor. Google uses cookies — including the DoubleClick DART cookie — to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time through Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices.
Google's collection is governed by Google's advertising policies, not by this page. This site does not receive your name, email, or any profile from Google: only which ad slot was filled and how many times each slot was shown.
Accounts
If you make an account, the site stores your email address, your chosen username, and a verification code that expires. Sign-in with Microsoft hands back your email and display name and nothing else. Accounts exist so that one person means one vote; you can ask for the account and everything attached to it to be deleted, and the boards you made will lose their byline rather than keep your name on them.
What this site does not do
- It does not sell, trade, or rent anything about you to anyone. There is no data buyer for a tier-list site.
- It does not build an advertising profile, and it does not send your activity to an ad network beyond the Google slot described above.
- It does not store IP addresses. The server sees yours for the length of a request, like every web server on earth, and writes none of it down.
- It does not track you across other sites, and it carries no third-party analytics scripts beyond Google's ad slots.
How long anything is kept
Counters are daily totals, so they degrade into statistics rather than history: today's numbers sit as real rows, and nothing in them can be walked backwards to a person. Account data lives until you ask for it to be deleted, at which point it is deleted.
Children
The site is not aimed at children under 13, and no account should be made by one. If you believe a child has created an account, say so and it will be removed.
Changes, and how to ask
If this page changes, the change is written here rather than applied quietly. To ask for deletion of an account, or any question about what is stored, reach the site owner through fcthq.com.
