About

One person makes this. Here is what that means for the site, what it costs, and what the real numbers are — including the ones that are not flattering.

The short version. TIER EVERYTHING is a free tier-list site: five rungs from GOATED down to Cooked, drag items into place, and argue about each one in a thread under the item. Voting and commenting work without an account; making your own board needs a Google sign-in. It is built and run by one person — Felix Lin, who is afunnyrat everywhere.

What is here right now

89 boards, 935 items, eight topic hubs, a wall for notes, a guess-the-tier arcade, and a timeline that reads the site's own history back out of the database. Almost every board was made by me, either to prove the feature works or because I actually wanted the ranking.

Here is the part most sites would leave out. The number of real people who have come here and argued is still small. Many of the comments you will read on a board are mine, and some are from a demo persona I use to show how a thread reads. The view counters on the big boards include seeded demo traffic, so they are much larger than the crowd behind them. I would rather say that here than let the numbers imply a busy site that does not exist yet.

What that means in practice: if you open a board and the thread is quiet, that is the real state of it, and your take would be the first one. Nothing about that is a trick — the whole point of the site is that arguments stay attached to the thing they are about, and there is no reason a board cannot start with one comment from a stranger.

What it costs, and how it pays for itself

Ranking is free and always will be. Boards stay free, unranked and un-sponsored unless they are labelled Sponsored and placed apart from the rest. The money comes from Google AdSense slots, Pro features, and sponsored boards — all of it is written up in plain language on the Pro & sponsorship page.

Things this site will not do

The other things

Same person, other projects: fcthq.com (everything I build), FunnyCraft (a Minecraft server), Precision Auto Clicker (a Chrome extension), Deep Rock Ember (an animated series), and the FCT Store.

The small print

What is collected is on the privacy page. The rules of the place are on the terms page. If something here is wrong, broken, or belongs to you and should come down, say so — there is a person on the other end of it.
